Hernia ultrasound is a difficult examination to learn. It requires sound sonographic technique and an excellent understanding of a complex area of anatomy to produce reliable results.  This webinar will review the anatomy of the groin, sonographic technique and a full range of pathologies encountered in the groin and abdominal wall and their sonographic appearances.


Groin pain is common and often leaves the treating clinician in a dilemma as to the exact cause of the symptoms.
Sonographic assessment of the groin is a useful, non-invasive test which may be employed to establish a diagnosis or at least narrow the field of options under consideration. 

Hernia ultrasound is a difficult examination to learn. It requires sound sonographic technique and an excellent understanding of a complex area of anatomy to produce reliable results. Clinical examination and accurate history taking also play an integral part in the performance of well-directed, clinically relevant hernia ultrasound scan.

This webinar will review the anatomy of the groin, sonographic technique and a full range of pathologies encountered in the groin and abdominal wall and their sonographic appearances.

Learning Outcomes include:
1. An introduction and review of the complex anatomy of the groin and abdominal wall.
2. An understanding of the types of hernias encountered in the groin and abdominal wall. 
3. A consideration of other potential causes of groin pain.
4. Demonstration of a reproducible scan technique that can be employed for hernia scanning.
5. Numerous case presentations will be presented. 
6. There will be opportunity to have your questions on hernia scanning answered.
