WEBINAR: Ultrasound of the Difficult Breast
Louise Worley, experienced sonographer and presenter, will take you through ultrasound of the difficult breast: techniques and cases, working up camouflaging lesions.
We all encounter dilemmas whilst attempting breast ultrasound. This webinar aims to give the attendee techniques and strategies to recognise and systematically define, enhance and optimise (work up) for more accurate interpretation, while performing ultrasound of the challenging breast. It may be pathology that has been seen on mammogram or MRI but needs more clarification and even location for biopsy under ultrasound. It may be a palpable lesion not seen on other modalities, or it may be subtle pathology picked up in a general survey by recognition of changes in ultrasound anatomy and not seen using other modalities.
The presentation will give many examples of ultrasound images and pathology not initially recognised unless worked up.
This presentation is for Sonographers, Sonologists and Breast Surgeons - practitioners who already do breast ultrasound. It will not go through the basics for "easy to see pathology”, although there will be some examples shown.
Learning outcomes are:
• Understanding why and when lesions can camouflage by identifying ultrasound anatomical change
• How to optimise for different pathological presentations
• How to use varying probe techniques for challenging cases
