This webinar presented by Dr Lucy Law and moderated by Dr Jacqui Williamson will discuss the definition, pathophysiology, prevention, current statistics and echocardiographic presentation of acute rheumatic fever (ARF) and rheumatic heart disease (RHD). The recently updated World Heath Federation (WHF) diagnosis criteria for RHD will also be examined and echo presentation and cases presented.
Learning outcomes for webinar attendees will include gaining an understanding of:
- The pathophysiology and prevention of ARF and RHD
- Incidence and prevalence of RHD (in Australia and globally)
- WHF criteria for diagnosis and screening for RHD
- Echo presentation of RHD
